Putting The “Field” Back in Field Trips
The Seed Project Foundation partners with local organizations to host educational field trips to the McKinney Roots donation farm.
The Seed Project Foundation has partnered with public and private schools, homeschool groups, and those with special needs to enhance their agricultural and nutritional education.
In 2023, the Seed Project Foundation partnered with the McKinney Independent School District Curriculum Department to enhance agricultural and nutritional education for every second-grade student in McKinney.
Together, we developed a two-step program that supplements classroom instruction on plant life cycles, nutrition, and agriculture. Through hands-on learning experiences, students plant seeds, harvest vegetables, and collect chicken eggs.
This program provides equal learning opportunities across MISD’s 18 elementary schools, reaching approximately 1,600 students each year, and extends these unique educational opportunities to many other school districts as well.
Expand Educational Opportunities
We will offer more comprehensive educational programs on healthy lifestyles, gardening, and environmental sustainability. Students, volunteers, and visitors can learn about sustainable agriculture and food systems.
